Learning Journal Activity Week 13

The Dream

He looked at his teammates before the game, "Lets do it for our country!" he said. The crowds of 160,000 people or more were roaring like thunder, chanting their country's national anthem with pride. His legs were almost trembling because he was so nervous, never in his dreams would he of thought that he would make it this far.

Growing up in the slums was an awful place to live. Drug lords, gangs and civil war were only a few things experienced in his childhood. But this did not stop him from playing the one thing he loved. Every day for hours on the streets of his hometown he would play soccer, from dawn til dusk. 

The two teams lined up and listened as their national anthems played, he felts as if he was on top of the world as he sang along with his team. Yesterday he read in the heading of the news "From Slums to Stardom", in which he is still awestruck in how far he's come. Just two minutes until the most important game in his life will start, the world cup. 

Learning Journal Activity Week 12

This photo is taken from Manual Antonio National Park in Costa Rica. This is part of the beach I was on while i was there last April. My family decided to just travel the country instead of going on a reserve or a cruise ship. It was very interesting travelling around a different country, we saw many different things and the way of life down there is very laid back compared to life here. Some people virtually live on anything and are still happy. While at this beach I felt like there was no worries and I could just relax for the rest of my life. It was a very interesting place to visit and i would gladly go back there if I had the chance.

Dear Postsecondary Education Committee,

I am writing this letter as a request to change the name of our University.

Moorehead State University in Kentucky has recently become the focus of much media attention as the name Moorehead has somewhat sexual connotations.

Many of our students have become the brunt of lewd humour.  An article in the March 14 edition of the The Kentucky Telegram was titled "Our cheerleaders love Moorehead."  The article was the highlighted on the David Letterman Show and is considered an embarrassment among faculty members.

At a recent faculty meeting it was decided that the University name be changed to Fellatio Falls Technical Institute.

Would you please officially make the necessary name change in the university registry,

Learning Journal Activity Week 10

UFC Fighter Not Allowed To Fight With His "Steel Hands"

Recently discharged Sgt. Clubber Bang, has turned his eyes to the UFC in a hope for for a new career as a professional fighter. Just  two years ago while fighting overseas in Iraq, Clubber and his platoon were hit by and IED (Improvised Explosive Device) while driving on a road near Baghdad. He was severly wounded and just barely made it out alive. Even though he did pull through, he lost both of his hands from the wrist up. He was then shipped back home where he went through a tremendous amount of rehabilitation. "Getting used to having no hands was very hard for me because you use your hands for everything little thing you do." he said. While at the Chicago rehabilitation centre, his doctor, Dr.Hyde, asked if he would like to try a one of a kind procedure never done before in the medical world. He was going to attatch a pair of tungsten alloy hands to his wrists, fusing with the nerves in his arm so he would be able to control his hand movements. The surgery took a total of 24 hours to be fully completed, and after the first day he was able to move the steel fingers around. Within a week he was able to pick up objects and by the first year he was doing everyhting like a normal person with hands would do. Before joining the forces, Clubber was an amateur fighter but thought that he would not be able to make a career of it. Exactly one year after the injury, Clubber started training intenisly again. He had a total of twenty fights throughout the year and his record was 4-16 with 8 fights won by KO. It was after his victory over former UFC welterweight champ Brad Hammer he decided that he would try to get a contract in the league. But things were not looking good very fast for Clubber. UFC president Dana White argued against him from trying to get a contract as a fighter saying "His so called steel hands give him a very high advantage over his opponents, and could also cause a tremendous amount of injury or even death". As for now, Clubber is now waiting on an official hearing on the leagues descision, and is hoping to one day become a UFC champion.

Learning Journal Activity Week 9

This post is following the book "The Lord of the Flies" and what would happen if the kids were not rescued. This Would of been a note that ralph wrote while on the island.

To Whoever Finds This,
     Around five years have now passed since the plane crash, food is now getting scarce and it will only be a matter of time before Jack and his tribe will find my hidden cave for which I used as a shelter. Things are getting worse , And jack is now sacrificing members of his own tribe to please the "beast" by eating them alive. They are monsters, flesh eating monsters. My only companion is david, who was in line to be sacrificed but I snuck in and released him from their prison. He now has my respect and he promised to do anything for him since I spared his life.We have been living in a Hidden cave on the other side of the island since. Two Weeks ago some supplies washed upon the beach, probably from a naval boat heading into the war. This is where i received the pen and paper, there was also some torn up clothes, some forks and knives and three rifles and ammunition. We have not yet to use the rifles due to the noise, but we have derived a plan to try and get rid of Jack, who is the seed to the evil on the island. David and i have made a prison to keep all the rest of the tribe until things cool down a bit, and we may release them if they ever become human again. If we take over their tribe, we will be able to use the thick trees on the top of the hill for a makeshift raft , leading us to freedom! David and I are now preparing our weapons and tonight we will be leaving to try and take over Jacks tribe. If these are my last words, i would like to say that i love both of my parents and i hope all is well back in the real world.
